A user keeps being logged out

Symptom

A user is repeatedly signed out of PropLink, sometimes mid-task.

Cause

  • Session expiry. Sessions expire after 30 days of inactivity, or sooner if the user signs in elsewhere.
  • Multiple device sign-ins. Signing in on a new device can sign out older sessions.
  • Browser deleting cookies at the end of each session.
  • Network changes (switching between Wi-Fi networks) can break sessions in some environments.
  • Two-factor failures triggering forced re-authentication.

Fix

    1. Ask the user to keep their browser open and avoid clearing cookies.
    2. Ask them not to sign in on multiple devices unless needed.
    3. Check Profile → Devices to see active sessions.
    4. Sign out all other sessions if the user suspects unauthorised access.

Prevent it next time

  • For shared computers, sign out at the end of each shift.
  • For personal computers, trust the device and stay signed in.
