A contractor's ContractorPort link doesn't work

Symptom

A contractor clicks the ContractorPort link in their invitation email and sees an error rather than the work order submission form.

Cause

  • The link has expired. ContractorPort links are time-limited.
  • The work order has been cancelled since the invitation was sent.
  • The link has been revoked by the manager.
  • The link is being opened on a device that has been signed in to a different ContractorPort session.
  • The email client has corrupted the URL (some clients shorten or wrap URLs).

Fix

    1. Open the work order in the admin app.
    2. Confirm the work order is still active and the invitation has not been revoked.
    3. If the link has expired, click Resend invitation to send a fresh one.
    4. Ask the contractor to copy the link directly from the email rather than clicking.

Prevent it next time

  • Send invitations close to when you expect the contractor to respond.
  • Set realistic link expiry windows for the work type.
