Building Safety

Register an HRB site

Once a building has been registered with the Building Safety Regulator and you have the registration reference, record it in PropLink.

Before you start

Have to hand:

  • The Building Safety Regulator's registration reference for the building.
  • The date the registration took effect.
  • The building's height in metres.
  • The number of residential storeys.
  • The Principal Accountable Person for the building.

If the building has not yet been registered, do that first through the Building Safety Regulator's portal. Registration is mandatory and free.

Mark the site as HRB

    1. Open the site and click Edit.
    2. In the Building Safety section, tick Is HRB.
    3. Enter the building height in metres.
    4. Enter the number of residential storeys.
    5. Save.

The site's sidebar now shows a Building Safety section with the safety case tabs.

Record the registration

    1. Open Site → Building Safety → Registration.
    2. Enter the Building Safety Regulator registration reference.
    3. Enter the registration date.
    4. Optionally upload the registration confirmation document.
    5. Save.

PropLink stores the reference on the site and surfaces it on every Building Safety report.

Name the Principal Accountable Person

See The Principal Accountable Person for the role. To record:

    1. Open Site → Building Safety → Principal Accountable Person.
    2. Pick the contact from the directory or add a new one.
    3. Enter their start date in the role.
    4. Optionally upload the appointment letter.
    5. Save.

The PAP appears on the site's contacts and on the Building Safety dashboard.

Multiple HRB buildings on one site

A site can have several buildings, some HRB and some not. Mark each building individually:

    1. Open the site → Buildings.
    2. For each building, click Edit and tick Is HRB if it qualifies.
    3. Save each.

PropLink rolls up HRB status at building level for site-level reporting.
