A maintenance event hasn't generated its work order

Symptom

A maintenance event was due to raise a work order automatically but no work order was created.

Cause

  • The event is not configured to auto-raise (it is set to require manual confirmation).
  • No default vendor is set for the event.
  • The default vendor's insurance or certification has expired, blocking auto-dispatch.
  • The maintenance workflow that drives the auto-raise has been paused or disabled.
  • The event has been skipped for this occurrence.

Fix

    1. Open the maintenance event.
    2. Check the schedule: is auto-raise on?
    3. Check the default vendor: is one set, and is their cover current?
    4. Check the workflow under Settings → Workflows → Maintenance workflows.
    5. Check the event's history for a skip or pause.

If everything is in order, manually raise the work order: open the event and click Raise work order now.

Prevent it next time

  • Review your maintenance workflows quarterly.
  • Keep an eye on vendor compliance expiries; they block auto-dispatch.
