Resident engagement strategy

The Building Safety Act 2022 requires every PAP to adopt a resident engagement strategy: the formal plan for how residents are given information about safety, how they can raise concerns and how those concerns are taken into account.

PropLink's resident engagement workflow is Coming soon.

What a strategy must cover

  • How residents will receive safety information (channels, frequency).
  • What information will be provided automatically (fire strategy, evacuation plan, recent safety case summary).
  • How residents can request additional information and the response timeline.
  • How residents can raise safety concerns.
  • How concerns will be triaged, investigated and resolved.
  • How the PAP will tell residents about changes.

Three pieces work together:

  • BuildingThread — the resident-facing portal where residents see safety information and raise concerns. See BuildingThread.
  • The strategy document — the formal written strategy stored as a document on the site, reviewable on a schedule.
  • The concerns workflow — concerns raised through BuildingThread enter a structured pipeline (received, triaged, investigated, resolved) with statutory response timelines tracked.

Reviewing the strategy

The strategy must be reviewed at intervals defined by the PAP, typically annually. PropLink will schedule the review and surface it when due.

Why it is not live yet

The workflow depends on BuildingThread shipping. When BuildingThread is available, this workflow follows in the same release.
